Spotlight on the Margay

The margay a wild cat that is found from Northern Mexico southwards to Northern Argentina Its coat is similar to the Ocelot but it is a smaller creature.

Life Cycle. Very little is known about the reporducitve habits of the Margay.

Margays spend a lot of time in the trees and they will fed ona variety of small animals and insects

Threats. Not a lot is known about the Margay's stauts but it is hunted for its fur and for the pet trade and this has led it to be threatened in many areas of its range Itt is listed in CITES Appendix 1 as an endangered species. .
